The button should be there, start with a verb, sit where the eye ends and stand out at 3 : 1 or more. I check all four.

How I check
- I find the call to action and the button text.
- I check the verb and the place: after the product and the benefit, usually bottom right.
- The button’s contrast to the background — by pixels, 3 : 1 or more.
- On marketplace cards the platform draws the button — I skip this check there.
Common mistakes
- “Learn more” instead of an action with a gain: “Pick a size”.
- A button the colour of the background.
