I will compute the type size on the shopper’s screen
A 900 × 1200 image is shown 5 times smaller in search. I compute every line in screen pixels and tell you what will not read.

2. Image

Show me an image — I will check “On-screen type”. This result comes first, 12 more checks are in the same report.
How I check
- I find the text blocks and the number of lines in each.
- I scale the line height to the display width: 180 px in a marketplace grid, 360 px in a feed, the banner’s own size.
- The norm is 12 px or more, under 9 px does not read. Legal text needs 8 px or more.
Common mistakes
- Five benefits in small type on the main photo.
- Composition and sizes on a 900 × 1200 slide in 24 px type — that is 5 px on screen.
- A thin light typeface: 12 px on paper, unreadable in practice.
FAQ
Why 180 px?
Mobile search on WB and Ozon shows 2 columns: on a 360–390 px screen that is 170–190 px per card.
And on the product page?
The image is wider there, but the decision to tap is made in search. So I check the worst case.
