A soft image and compression marks cost trust. I measure edge sharpness, check the resolution for 2× screens and find generation and retouch defects.

How I check
- Sharpness — the Laplacian on edges: 30 and up is crisp, 18–30 soft, under 18 blurred.
- Resolution — at least twice the display width: a 180 px WB search card needs a 360 px file.
- The model looks for artefacts: letters, hands, cut-out edges, a halo around the product.
Common mistakes
- A photo stretched from a marketplace preview.
- A re-saved JPEG with blocks around the text.
- A generated image with melting letters.

How do I fix a soft image?
“Enhance” mode sharpens and upscales up to 2× without changing the layout, and the AI controller checks the result the same way.
